Hello all, it’s Dawn here. Today’s blog is one I am sure many of our customers and loved ones of our customers want to see. Chances are you have seen the headlines about Diacetyl, a chemical found in some e-juices as a flavoring that causes a lung disease known as “Popcorn Lung”.
First, let me assure you that here at A Clean Cigarette we do not now, and never have used this chemical in any of our products.
Not only have we done 3 separate lab analysis on our product, so we know exactly what is in it, but we also double and triple checked with our supplier to be absolutely sure that there is zero trace of Diacetyl. Now that we have that out of the way let’s see what we can find out in regards to this chemical.
The first thing of importance to note is that one place that Diacetyl CAN be found is in a traditional burning cigarette. So although we do not use this, it really wouldn’t change the fact that electronic cigarettes have way fewer ingredients than a burning tobacco cigarette. Again, the best thing you can do for yourself is not inhale anything, if that is not an option then be sure you can trust your electronic cigarette brand.
The next thing we need to know about Diacetyl is what it is and what it is used for.
According to www.osha.gov:
Diacetyl (also called butanedione or 2,3-butanedione, molecular formula C4H6O2) is a natural byproduct of fermentation and is also synthesized by chemical manufacturers. Diacetyl gives butter and certain food flavorings a distinctive buttery flavor and aroma. Food flavorings containing Diacetyl are used in microwave popcorn and other snack foods, pet foods, candies, baked goods, and other food products.
The thing is, it is very important to know what is in anything that you inhale, eat, drink or put in your body in any way. With A Clean Cigarette brand electronic cigarettes, we have taken the time to test our products and then shared that information proudly for all to see. Keeping our customers informed is one of our best customer service tools. If you use another brand of electronic cigarette please check with your supplier to find out what is in their liquid. If they are unable to tell you or better yet show you, then consider changing suppliers.
Also if they say the only use food grade ingredients so this is not in their product…..that is just a bit of an untruth. Yes, most use only food grade, BUT this ingredient is a food grade safe ingredient. It’s still bad for the lungs.
