Hello again and welcome! It’s Dawn here, and although we have talked on today’s subject in the past, (Here) it’s time to do it again. Headlines like the ones below are becoming so common place that I am getting questions regarding electronic cigarettes exploding everyday. It’s not surprising either… with headlines like these, even I, am like WTH?!?!
Take a look:
“Man suffers fractured neck, third degree burns and has hole blown through the roof of his mouth after e-cigarette explodes”
These are really scary headlines and this is what you need to know:
1st…All of the products mentioned in these articles are considered either ‘2nd or 3rd generation vapors’.
Here is a chart to help you tell the different types of vapors from each other. There is a BIG difference between a 1st generation Cig-a-like electronic cigarette and a 2nd or 3rd generation vapor product.
At A Clean Cigarette we ONLY sell generation 1, cig-a-like products. There is a simple reason for this. Liability. You see the bigger the product and the more it can be consumer modified the less safe the device may be. All generations use lithium-ion batteries. These are the same type of batteries that can be found in most cell phones. These batteries are powerful and come with certain risks.
For instance, when metal comes in to contact with these batteries they can explode! So carrying spare un-contained batteries in your pocket with keys or other metal items is very risky. Our product has a self contained battery, at no time should you remove the battery from it’s protective case. Modifying A Clean Cigarette is not necessary, we have done all the work for you. Keeping it simple and safe for our customers is a part of the A Clean Cigarettes promise.
2nd…Know your product!
If you are using a generation 3 modifiable product, then you need to educate yourself on how that product works! Having the right input/output for the battery and device you are using is a must! As I have said, we at A Clean Cigarette do not sell these types of products, so I will be of little help when it comes to how to combine the right mod parts to the right ion battery. Check with your supplier for information. If your supplier is unable or unwilling to help you get the education you need, find a different supplier!! This is your life and face on the line!
3rd…Not all chargers are created equal!
Please only use the chargers that come with your A Clean Cigarette brand electronic cigarette to charge it! Not all brands have the same input/output requirements. We have taken all of the guess work out of it for our product and supply each new customer with a proper charger in their starter kit regardless of the size kit you buy. DO NOT USE OTHER CHARGERS! The risk is simply not worth it.
4th…Not all USB ports are created equal!
Again, we at A Clean Cigarette have wall/USB adapters that we supply. Not all USB ports are made for charging electronic cigarettes, and all brands of electronic cigarettes can be different. If your charger or adapter are showing signs of wear, please replace them. Frayed wires are not your friend. If they are under 90 days old we will replace them for FREE. We suggest once a year replacing them as a part of your electronic cigarette maintenance. Pictured is an Lithium Ion battery with it’s metal contact points exposed. At A Clean Cigarette our batteries are self contained inside the device. When used properly there is no risk of foreign metal objects coming into contact with our batteries. If you use a product that requires you to be in contact with the ion batteries PLEASE use cation how and where you store them!
5th…Know your brand’s safety components.
What I mean is that some brands like A Clean Cigarette have safety devices built right in to their products. Some do not! One example is the risk of over charging. With our brand that’s not a big deal. Both our chargers and batteries have shut off chips that stop the charging process when the battery is full. Most 2nd and 3rd gen products do not. Check with your supplier to find out if yours does. You can rest assured with A Clean Cigarette when you leave it on the charger, it is not going to over charge.
With A Clean Cigarette brand electronic cigarettes your risks are very low, we can not say that for other companies. Remember this industry is not regulated, so make sure you are dealing with a company that has your back when it comes to your electronic cigarettes safety!
