The effects of smoking burning tobacco on the body.

Hello, it’s me again Dawn. 🙂  Today’s topic is really not one any of us likes to talk about. What are the effects of burning tobacco on the human body? Well most of us know some of them without even having to look it up. Some of us are already experiencing some of them due to our past or CleanCigaretteLogo(13current use of burning tobacco. The unfortunate truth is that if you smoke burning tobacco there ARE things, and not good things, happening right now in your body that are most likely going to result in death. Not a great mental image eh? We agree, but the truth still needs to be said and we are going to say it here.

Let’s start with an obvious one. The lungs. When we smoke burning tobacco the lungs can not keep up with all the toxins that are being forced into them. Here is a picture to give you an idea of what a healthy lung looks like compared to a tobacco ridden one.lungsMIt is too easy to pick the smoking lung, isn’t it?

Okay, that’s the lungs but what about the heart? Well, smoking burning tobacco causes many issues with the heart. Take a look at these images to see some of the greatest risks to your heart that smoking that stuff poses.heart artery

Scary stuff there. Something to consider is that although your lungs can begin to heal themselves after giving up burning tobacco, the other organs in your body cannot. So once the damage is done, it’s just done. Every burning cigarette you smoke causes irreparable damage.

Alright, now let’s move on to how smoking burning tobacco affects the throat and mouth. These pictures are sure hard to look at on the screen. Just imagine how hard it would be to see this on yourself, or worse yet, a loved one.

Not pretty to look at is it? Well, if you think throat or mouth cancer would look bad on you, imagine how skin cancer looks. Premature aging is also a huge effect that tobacco has on the skin.

Wow, and once this stuff happens there is no undo button!

Now on to the brain! Burning tobacco is a huge cause of stroke. Stroke is not a good word in our books! Look at how fast burning tobacco starts to effect one of the most important organs of the body.

The brain activity difference from a smoker to a non-smoker is very easy to see.

So that’s a lot of effects on the body, but we are not even close to done. If I tried to list every effect burning tobacco has on the human body I would need way more space than a blog! So let’s add one more image that wraps up that list a bit more completely.

    1. You are absolutely right. Nothing you put into your lungs besides clean air is good for you. Quitting everything is the best option for your health, hands down. At least now though there are options for those of us that can not yet step away from nicotine, but do want to ditch the tar, 4000 + chemicals and over 600 ingredients found in burning tobacco. ~Dawn
